Picture: Buddha Amitayus (Sambhogakaya); Nepal; Early Malla Period, 15th century – sold at The Rubin Ladd Foundation (during the Arts of Pacific Asia Show New York 2012) – Courtesy of Luca Meldoli.

It all started with a strong fascination about India,

that induced Luca Meldoli to travel the country extensively, where he got more and more involved in it’s rich culture and philosophy, and eventually discovered his passion for the religiously infused figurative art of Tibet and Nepal.

Emanated from the desire to further engage in his passion and to share it with the Western world, Capriaquar was founded in 1983, specializing in ancient Himalayan and Indian art.

Besides participating in international fairs on a regular basis, Mr. Meldoli has since applied his expertise in offering various services like estimates, appraisals or mediation for private collectors, making Capriaquar a rendezvous for all lovers of Asian art.
