Asian Art Museum Berlin: Albert Grünwedel Exhibition
(Notice: This entry is currently beeing reviewed by smb.museum)
The Asian Art Museum in Berlin Dahlem is showing parts of their large collection of mural paintings from Central Asia.
In large quantities these were acquired on expeditions between 1899 and 1907. At that time, Albert Grünwedel was one of the major researchers and explorers of ancient Asian art history. The current exhibition puts a special focus on methods of conservation and restoration of the collection.
